Strain deserves a specific caution. It is a model of cardiovascular load built from heart-rate zone time, so it systematically under-reads activity that stresses you without raising heart rate much — heavy low-rep lifting, long isometric work, and skill training all score low while leaving you genuinely fatigued. - The four-to-six-sessions-a-week athlete. Someone with enough training volume that under-recovery is a real risk and enough schedule flexibility to swap a hard day for an easy one. The daily target only pays off if you can act on it.
